Alienware new Area 51 a multicore monster with Threadripper or Intel Core X
Alienware announces an update of its flagship Area 51 gaming PC, with a choice of Intel’s new Core X-series processor or AMD’s recently unveiled Ryzen Threadripper chips.
Area 51, built to order, creates space for some truly ridiculous specifications if you have afford it. With Intel Core-X series, you have the option of the 6-core i7 7800X, 8-core i7 7820X, or 10-core i9 7900X processors.
And the graphics cards go from a single Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti, to the dual GTX 1080 Ti cards running in SLI, up to triple AMD Radeon RX 580s running with AMD Crossfire.
A Threadripper model will be available from July 27th, while the Core X variant coming the end of the summer. Prices have yet to be unveiled, but with the ridiculous level of high-end hardware Alienware has to offer, it probably will be steep.
